Experience: Creator of several plays, including Venn Diagrams and Fake yr Death in 6 (Lonesome) Steps, Kate writes and works in theatre from a need to perform story. Her dramatic work is highly performance-oriented, and her poetry is steeped in the dramatic overtones of a life making theatre. When she was a child Kate’s mother taught her to dissolve the terror of my nightmares by rewriting them–creating another story to live in once she returned to sleep. For the last ten years she’s used this ethos to wrestle her inner stories into poems on a page, into her own body as performance art, and into the bodies of others as plays.
